Creeping Thyme

Description

Synonyms: Wild Thyme A spreading perennial that forms thick mats with clusters of lavender flowers, very fragrant, not as strong as the garden thyme (T. vulgaris). Blooms from June through August. Found across northwest Europe on dry slopes, grasslands, and dunes. Best in full to partial sun, dry soils; an excellent ground cover or lawn substitute, flowers attract bees; has a wide variety of uses as an herb for cooking, teas, medicines, etc.
