Synonyms: Illinois Tick Clover | Prairie Mimosa | False Sensitive Plant A warm-season perennial that has doubly compound leaves which create a fernlike appearance; flowers are creamy white and spherical, blooms mid-late summer. Common throughout tallgrass prairie and great plains, usually in disturbed sites, pastures, rocky open wooded slopes, ravines, streambanks, roadsides, waste places. Prefers full sun, dry to moist soils; also used for revegetation and prairie restoration.
